1. Drink a glass of water in the morning
It is said that a glass of water first thing in the morning can do wonders to your body. To begin with, it clears your system, flushes out toxins and brings on the metabolism rate. So for those of us who are yet to pick on this habit, this would be the time to start.
2. Get enough sleep
Studies done show that a good 8 hour sleep is the average requirement for adults. As working people though, we tend to sleep less, with busy schedules-get home late, push everything thus sleeping later. Less sleeps makes us cranky, tired and not focused. Despite our busy lives, we should at least aim to have 6-8hours of sleep every day.
3. Choose the right snacks
Most are the times we find ourselves sitting at our desks at work or lounging at home with potato chips. If not these, it’s either salted nuts, cookies or candies. As much as these snacks are tasty, they are unhealthy- try and make it a habit to snack on healthy stuff e.g. apples, berries, trust me your body will thank you.
4. Make social connections
It is said that no man is an island and thus it is important to have connections outside your job/ working schedule. It is so easy to get caught up in life’s schedule that you have no time to socialize.
If this sounds like you, take up your colleagues on those after work drinks-meet friends on the weekends. Make sure to stay connected.
5. Love life
This may seem like the easiest thing ever to do but you would be surprised. Life has its ups and downs and takes a toll on us from time to time. It is up to you to make the decision to be happy and not take things too seriously. In the end nobody makes it out alive, so why get stressed over things that won’t matter in five years.
Strive to live healthy, be happy and love life!
